I had never heard of Perkins Restaurant until recently. I had the opportunity to dine there and am definitely looking forward to my next experience. There are hundreds of locations across the country but I live in New England and have not had experience with their chain. The restaurant is a family oriented environment with a huge menu – something for everyone.
Founded in 1958, Perkins operates 400 restaurants in 33 states and five Canadian provinces. The Perkins system includes 134 company-owned and operated restaurants and 266 franchised units. The Company also has a baked goods manufacturing division operating under the name Foxtail which manufactures pies, pancake mixes, cookie dough, and muffin batter for in-store bakeries and third-party customers.
The combination of the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery chain with Marie Callender’s occurred in 2006. Marie Callender’s consists of 38 companies and 30 franchised restaurants in 6 states; it is famous for its fresh-baked pies and has a national presence through supermarket frozen entrée lines offered by ConAgra.
Private investment funds managed by Wayzata Investment Partners LLC are the majority owners of Perkins & Marie Callender’s Holding LLC, the parent company of the Perkins & Marie Callender’s group of companies.

Their breakfast is phenomenal with so many great choices. It is very difficult to narrow the options down. At the restaurant I ate at – the waiter was great. He was engaging, entertaining and very aware of my needs. He had the perfect balance of checking in while not being annoying and invasive.
The food arrived in a decent period of time and exactly as expected and highly anticipated and the food was delicious and I seriously had a difficult time trying to determine what to order. The environment was comfortable and although I didn’t order any of their bakery items – they were incredibly hard to resist.
I can’t wait to go back to Florida and try something else on their menu!
