Rooster Fin Games – Great Holiday Gifts For The Whole Family

It has always been a tradition in my family to get together one night a week to play a game and talk about how our week is going.  This tradition goes all the way back to the days when I was very small.  I have fond memories of my grandmother and all her siblings gathered around a huge family table playing games every Saturday night – while all my cousins and I played throughout the house and in the yard.

My hope for my kids is that they carry on this tradition, and now that they can see that there are many games out there that can be fun like the games by Rooster Fin Games!  I have a very good feeling that they will want to continue this tradition when they have children one day!  These games bring lots of laughter and happiness to our nights, and they also require us to think about our next move!  Now that our grandchildren are living with us it is even more important that the games we play must have educational components to them.

One of our favorite games is Ninja Squirrels… It is the game of color matching, nut snatching fun! Ninja Squirrels are fast food fighters. They race to gather acorns to fill their dens before the winter. To help them grab the most acorns, players take turns flipping cards. When there is a color match, be the first to snatch the correct nut. Collect the most acorns to win!

This game is for players age 7 to adult and the game is for 2 to 4 players.  Major skills involved include color identification and motor skills.

Basically you have the round circle (4 pieces that you can put together in any order).  You fill the open slot with an acorn of the appropriate color to start.  Each player is handed half the deck – face down.

Taking turns, each player places one card face down in the center of the circle – if the next card on top has the same color acorn the goal is to be the first to grab the appropriate color acorn on from the cup on the circle.  Then you replace that acorn on the circle with a randomly selected acorn from those that remain in the box.  You may end up with multiple of the same color acorns on the circle.
