100% Eco Friendly Laundry Solutions

We have a multi-generational home – so many family members.  This also means we not only have so much laundry but also many of us have allergies that need to be considered.  This used to be a daunting task when it came to laundry but it definitely no longer is.  When you own an apartment style home with more than 3 families in it, a commercial washer and dryer would definitely be very helpful and aqualogic.com.au/ can help.

When I first started looking for allergy free, all natural products to use – I would only use it for my clothes and my daughter’s clothes.  Everyone else was convinced that their clothes needed to be “cleaner”.  Well as time went by and they realized our clothes were just as clean they started to transition also.

Below are the items that I have had huge success with and one that I am just about to try and will provide more details later.  You don’t need to be locked into using detergents that are heavily loaded up in chemicals.  Free yourself from the chemicals!

Dizolve sheets were my very first experience with eco-friendly laundry options and they are still one of my favorite.  Dizolve packs ultra-concentrated, eco-friendly cleaning power into a tiny, pre-measured strip of detergent that you just toss in the wash. Its low-sudsing formula works in all types of washing machines, including high-efficiency (HE). The smart formulation effectively seeks out and dislodges dirt molecules and stains, keeping them in suspension until they are rinsed away. It makes your laundry washing chore easier, healthier, more economical, and much kinder to our planet. Clean, green, and simple! This product contains 160 loads of our Fresh Linen Scented Dizolve eco-strips.  They are now available in boxes of 160 sheets – mine only had 72.  For large loads I used two sheets – not sure if I needed to, I just always did.  They are tiny sheets that pack alot of cleaning power.

Soap nuts are a berry that grows on the Chinese Soap Berry Tree. They contain a natural soap that is released when put in water. They are Mother Nature’s gift to man and have been used for centuries in Asian cultures. They are an amazing laundry detergent. Just put 4 to 5 Soap Nuts in the included wash bag and throw in the washer with the clothes. Wash bags are included.

These I just received in the mail and haven’t actually tried them yet but they have great reviews.  There are many brands on the market but I chose the brand Eco-Friendly.  This laundry ball contains dozens of natural ceramic balls, which works together to increase the pH level of the water when they move around in your laundry machine during a cycle. The ceramic balls also can help reduce negative irons in water, creates a natural Hydrogen Peroxide type effect, which adhere to dirty to keep the clothes cleaner and fresher during the wash.  The ceramic beads which collects odors, dirty and wast from your laundry is from earth, all natural.  Nothing else needed when they work, simply put in the sun for an afternoon to refresh them.  Lasts up 1500 loads, just need a little sun and they will be just as effective as the first wash.  What I learned through reading is that you need two balls for a small load, three for a medium and four for a large.  Since I don’t ever foresee being able to do anything other than a large load – I bought four (so two sets).  They need to be placed in the sun for a few hours a week to regenerate the beads.

I absolutely love Melaleuca’s MelaPower Laundry detergent.  It is part of a direct marketing program though and I could no longer afford the subscription just so I could get my laundry detergent.  Now however, you can get it through Amazon!  This is totally awesome news!  You do not need a lot – one bottle can do 96 loads!  Available in several fragrance options.

There are two types of balls I use for the dryer (no dryer sheets for me).  The first are these hard plastic balls.  Dryer Balls help separate clothes for faster drying times, as well as soften fabrics naturally without chemicals or toxic materials. The are durable, reusable, and easy to use. Set of 4.

Next are wool dryer balls.  I really have no preference between the two types of balls.  They work differently but both are just as effective.  These premium dryer balls are all-natural, won’t harm your dryer and will help soften your clothes.  They are made of high-quality 100% New Zealand wool, these dryer balls soften and fluff clothing, towels, sheets, blankets, jackets and more!  They also help improve air flow in the dryer which shortens dry time (shorter drying times means a reduced power utility bill).  Each ball is reusable and lasts 1,000 or more loads, typically 2-4 years.
