Australian Beauty – Before and After Invisalign

Australia – A Country of Beautiful Smiles

The Australian Society of Orthodontists reports that men and women in Australia between the ages of 25 and 35 are getting braces or orthodontist work. This statistical data is making up more than 30% of dental patients.

Unabashedly, like Tom Cruise a few years ago, displayed his braces. Today young Aussies are using whitening systems and wearing braces to straighten their teeth that naturally begin moving as people age. Now, thanks to technology in the dental industry, there is Invisalign.

Oral Technology

Invisalign or Invis is clear orthodontic aligners that are used instead of braces to help adjust your teeth. They do not include any metal and are virtually invisible in your mouth. Invis is a customised oral process using several trays that help to shift your teeth back into place.

Using this process will help move your teeth up to 0.25 mm per tray. How you get started with Invis involves you taking the company’s Smile Assessment to see if you and Invisalign are a fit.

Invisalign Material

Invisalign aligners are a special patented “smart track” material that is a medical-grade thermoplastic invention. The technology used to make these amazing clear oral aligners involves a specialized 3D printing process and a laser technique to make the aligners perfect for each customer.

Because the Invis system does not contain any latex and gluten. Invisalign is free from any BPS chemicals. It has been given approval in Europe and Australia by the European Medicines Agency and the Australian Therapeutic Goods Agency. Through lots of testing, Invis is safe for human use and to wear in your mouth without any allergic reactions.

Getting It Straight

How do you start with the Invisalign dental system? No matter whether you live in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Capital Territory, Tasmania, or the Northern Territory, an Invis Smile Concierge team is available to help adults and/or teens to set up an appointment.

Your Invisalign provider will take a digital 3D scan of your teeth problem to provide the right aligner system for you. Invisalign technicians use your scans to design a series of plastic aligners that are customized for your oral treatment.

When your aligners are ready, perhaps in four weeks or less, they will fit perfectly over your upper and lower teeth. Next, you will wear the first aligner set for one or two weeks. Then you will be asked to replace the first aligner set with the second set of aligners.

Again, after another one or two weeks, you replace them for the next set and this continues until you finish with the last Invis aligner that you and your Invis dental team have outlined and that your teeth are successfully straightened.

When you replace each aligner tray set you will notice that each new aligner has a slightly different form that places new pressure on your teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position. I know that you are thinking about this question, can I brush my teeth during this process? Yes, Invis can be worn every day and you simply take the aligner out in the morning and at night to clean them.

Also, yes, you can remove these invisible aligners to eat even though food will not get trapped in them like wire braces. Invisalign also keeps your teeth cleaner than braces or mouthguards because you can continue to brush your teeth.

Invisalign Benefits

The type of imperfect teeth conditions that are helped using this aligner system includes crowded teeth, underbites, overbites, and gapped teeth. It is best to get these oral issues fixed because each one can cause problems like periodontal disease, plaque build-up, and jaw pain.

Additional benefits of using Invisalign are that the aligners are comfortable to wear. The aligners do not rub against your gums nor do they irritate your mouth. Also, when you and your dental team have realised your final results you will graduate to wearing temporary retainers.

Invisalign Retainer Treatment

Retainers are used after Invis aligners to ensure that your teeth do not shift back into their original position. You don’t need to worry about the fit of the retainers, because they are custom-made just for you.

You and your Invisalign dental team will devise the time you should wear your retainer because each teeth straightening case will be different. It is suggested that you wear the retainer each day for around six months. Why do you need to wear a retainer?

When you are wearing your Invisalign aligners your jawbone begins to soften or become resorption in order that your teeth can move into their final positions. Then after Invis, you need to begin wearing your retainers to keep your new positioned teeth in place while new bone is deposited. This process will take anywhere from 9 to 12 months for your bone structure to become stronger.

It is understandable that reluctantly you don’t feel the need to wear another oral device after the Invisalign treatment. Your teeth begin to develop problems over time, because they are used to chew, bite, talk, and swallow. It takes time to pull your teeth back into a proper position. Also, remember that wearing the retainer is to give you the perfect smile that sent you on the Invis journey in the first place.
