In parts one and two, we discussed what Mounjaro is, how it helps with weight loss and some potential side effects. Not everyone experiences side effects, and not everyone experiences all of them. Personally, I only experience dry mouth and constipation. Although I prefer not to have those side effects, it is worth it to lose weight. The key is knowing what helps! In this article, I will share specifics about what helps – use this as your guide and keep it handy as a reference.

Nausea

I only experience Nausea if I take my weekly injection on an empty stomach. I also inject it into my thigh and not my stomach.

  • Eat protein every 3 hours
  • Drink electrolytes
  • Non-Drowsy Dramamine
  • Ginger Capsules – You can also make your own ginger candies and syrup – easy as can be
  • Smell Rubbing Alcohol – You won’t carry a bottle with you, but the prep pads are so convenient they even fit into a small wallet.
  • Zofran prescription is the least favorite choice because it can lead to more constipation, solving one problem with another.

Constipation

Everyone seems to suffer from this if you don’t prepare. The higher the dose, the more likely it will be. Be proactive!

bellway super fiber

Laxatives, senna, or Smooth Move tea are not suggested because they are absorbed into the bloodstream and can be addictive. They are even more of a problem if you have diverticulitis or diverticulosis.

Burping

There are two struggles with burping. One is that you burp a lot. Two – is when those sulfur burps kick in. Sulfur burps are nasty. When this happens, it is usually because I forgot to take the digestive enzymes before eating. When I got the sulfur burps, I drank only clear liquids the next day, and they went away.

This could be electrolyte related, but it has been entirely because I have not kept up with my water intake.

Acid Reflux

Acid reflux can be a significant concern with Mounjaro. When I first started, I lost a lot of sleep due to acid reflux. Now I take activated charcoal daily and apple cider vinegar gummies. I haven’t had a problem since.
