Crowned by Julia Dweck Is A Must Have For Young Princesses
Crowned is a must have for young princesses. The story by Julia Dweck and the illustrations by Beth Trott are amazing. The story is told in rhyme but has a very compelling message. I have never read any books by Julia Dweck, but I will be looking for her others on Amazon. The story is about a fairy sprite who wants to become a queen in the worst way. The only way she knows to become a queen is to find a prince. She tries all the usual methods (those done by well- known princesses like eating an apple). Then she runs into a two-headed ogre and needs to face them on her own. She learns that strength and determination will win out over any crown. When I received this advanced copy from Julia Dweck I read it with my 5 year old daughter, Amanda. She was in love with it immediately. She is in kindergarten and they are working on rhyming. This book was perfect! She also loved the cute and cartoon-like illustrations. This is a great story and I plan to add it to our paperback collection. I can see this as a book we return to for several years. You can purchase the paperback version of Crowned at Amazon now. And don’t miss the Kindle version coming out on October 24!
