In the past I have made your typical New Year’s resolutions – lose weight, get fit, cut out the sugar etc… This year I am not labeling my changes as New Year’s Resolutions but rather as my new self.  I just turned 48 on New Year’s Even and I can’t believe I am actually that old.  I don’t feel that old (except on certain days).  I still feel like I can do anything I could when I was in my 20s and I still want to do those things.

Technically I started my lifestyle change in baby steps 6 weeks ago.  My very first thing was to stop chewing my nails.  I have been chewing them for 40 years and to me – it seemed logical, if I could stop chewing my nails (and I have an extremely stressful life) then I could probably do just about anything I set my mind to.  Well guess what, my nails are all getting long and I haven’t chewed them in what seems like forever.

My next steps are to not necessarily eat more healthy but to avoid eating less healthy…  Does that make sense?  While at the same time adding more of a focus to fitness.
