Oversight is an abstract strategy game by Griddly Games’. Oversight (MSRP $24.95, for 2 – 4 players ages 7 and up) is a fast-paced 4-in-a-row game. With a 4-color checker-style block board, Oversight adds movable squares and tokens for a completely fun challenge to outwit your opponents to get four colors in a row.
Because the game is based solely on getting the colors in order (symbols are also on the playing pieces for color blind individuals), the game is ideal for multi-language availability. The directions are printed in English, Spanish, German and French.
To play Oversight, players, on their turn, can either place a token on the board, or shift an entire row or column of moveable squares over by one space. The rules are simple but the game gets increasingly challenging as players learn from their mistakes and predict their opponents’ moves.

My daughter and I tend to be the board game players in our house so it is almost always just us that play. Occasionally though my son or husband will join in and then games get really exciting. Games like Connect 4 and Tic Tac Toe are always on our list of “go to” games. However, this one is now right up there. It is the perfect game for the campground so people of all ages can join in the fun. The concept is similar to Connect 4 yet a little more complex with many more opportunities for strategy. My daughter will be taking it to school for use in her after school program on some days – the kids would all enjoy it for sure.
