I constantly personalize items with a set of metal stamps. It is a tedious process and not exactly practical on many different types of material. Clearly I cannot use a hammer and metal stamps on glass… But I can’t use it on alot of items.
This particularly method of engraving involves a battery operated cordless engraving pen. I will say it takes several attempts to really get the hang of it – not too much pressure but just enough pressure – to end up with a smooth end result.
But – if you can hold a pen you can do this and end up with some awesome products. It simply takes 2 AA batteries and even comes with a spare tip. It is small and completely portable – takes up only as much space as a pen.
This engraving pen works on glass, metal, wood and plastic. And it sells for a very reasonable price. As soon as I turned it on I kept looking for things all around the house to actually engrave.
In the video above I engraved a cocktail shaker and an acrylic tray. Easy as can be – a great gift for a teenager or DIY person in your life.
