We have been having a fun summer so far with camping. It is nice to get away and relax, and to have some down time away from the phones and computers. The kids are really enjoying themselves, and I am glad that we have the opportunity to do this. One downside to doing a lot of camping away from home, though, is the amount of time that we spend on the road. I feel like we barely leave the car sometimes. So it is very, very important that my vehicle remains in tip-top shape. Especially with highway driving I don’t want to take any chances. So I work hard to maintain my car. That is why I really appreciate the TireTek Premium Tire Pressure Gauge.
Maintaining your tires is one of the most important parts of car maintenance. Not only is tire maintenance a safety issue; it is a money issue. When you keep your tires properly inflated you extend the life of your tires and you improve your gas mileage. So how do you do that? By regularly checking the inflation of your tires. The manual that comes with your car will tell you the correct tire pressure, and you can conveniently find it on the door of your car. Tire pressure is measured in pounds per square inch (psi) and varies depending on the type and weight of the vehicle, so you should use the manufacturer’s recommended psi. Your tire pressure should be checked in the morning before the vehicle has been run, because the recommended pressure is based on cold inflation pressure.
The TireTek Premium Tire Pressure Gauge is simple and accurate to use. You simply twist the valve cover off of your tire’s valve stem and twist the gauge onto the stem. The easy-to-read large dial registers your current tire pressure (from 0 to 60 psi). There is even a bleed button on the gauge which allows you to release air while reading the tire pressure to obtain the most accurate reading. One of my favorite things about the gauge (besides how easy it is to use) is the 360° degree swivel chuck that allows you to rotate the gauge’s 2 inch face to any angle for easier reading. After you take your reading, you can fill your tires with air to the appropriate psi. Do not overfill your tires – that is just as dangerous as under-filling them.
Keep a TireTek Premium Tire Pressure Gauge in each of your vehicles – you never know when you will have to check your air pressure. It is important to check your tires regularly, both with a tire gauge and visually, to catch wear and tear that could cause an issue while you are driving. With high-quality steel and brass construction and a rubber guard around the gauge to protect the glass from breaking, the TireTek Premium Tire Pressure Gauge will be the last tire gauge you will ever need to buy.
