Joy of Christmas by Alex Balagna #JoyofChristmas

This is such as strange time of year and every time I find it more strange.  I went to the store the other day and in the holiday section they had Halloween items/decor in the same aisle as Christmas holiday items.  That kind of blew my mind.  But it totally created a setting and mood for me to sit down and listen to Alex Balagna’s CD – Joy of Christmas.

One of my favorite features of this CD is the first 8 songs are full songs – vocals and music.  The next 8 are the same songs but sung with vocals only.  You don’t often find vocals only on CDs – instrumental only but not usually just vocals.  It was a nice change.

The songs are not sung as traditionally as other artists have sung them.  They sound great and he has an awesome voice but I am not really able to sing along until I learn them, they way he sings them.  That may not seem like a huge deal but I do love to sing Christmas songs.

The song list includes:  Angels We Have Heard On High; It Came Upon A Midnight Clear; The First Noel; O Come, O Come, Emmanuel; O Holy Night, O Come All Ye Faithful; Still, Still, Still; Away In A Manger, Silent Night – then all these same songs again as vocal only.

This is Alex’s first full length CD and you will not be disappointed.  His voice and range are amazing.  He does have a demo reel on his site so you can even check his voice out.
