Preparing for Superbowl Sunday AKA – SephoraBowl Funday

Superbowl Sunday has a huge place in so many peoples’ hearts and homes every single year.  Our home is no different – huge deal!  But for us it is an even more HUGE deal!  In 2005 (02/06/05) our daughter was born at halftime!  That year it was the Patriots vs the Eagles and the Patriots won 24-21.

We were in the process of adopting our son when we learned that his mother was pregnant again.  We, of course, said we would love to take his sibling.  So, on Superbowl Sunday their biological mom went into labor for our daughter.  We had a girl’s name picked out – Sephora Lee – but we hadn’t come up with a boys name.  Halftime started and we got the call – as I am running out of the house all I could think was WHAT IF IT’S A BOY!  We already had a William Daniel, Robert Lewis and an Anthony Michael… Lo and behold she was a girl and Sephora Lee came to be.

Who is Sephora Lee?  Where did we get that name?  Well Moses’s wife – her hebrew name was Tzipporah.  We really thought she’d be 15 before she could spell that on her own.  But the french spelling is Sephora (pronounced Sefra – not like the cosmetics chain).  Now you know, the rest of the story…

So now, every single Superbowl Sunday is also called SephoraBowl Funday.  It is forever the theme and we make it an event!

This year we will be sharing some awesome food and fun while celebrating both events at the same time.  She will be 13 this weekend!  The last of the 5 to hit their teens!  Huge milestone all around.

As usual we will begin our day with the horses – no day is complete without spending time with them.  We have four!

What will begin our festivities?  FOOD! I totally love watching the kids get older – their tastebuds grow along with them and we get to start eating more mature foods.  YAY!

TGI Fridays has amazing snacks – they can easily stand alone or with other appetizers.  The Party Bites are premium puffed corn snacks in several different flavors such as:  Macaroni and Cheese, Buffalo Ranch and Cheddar and Bacon.  The Party Bites are baked and full of flavor.   Some other TGI Friday snacks include Potato Skins snacks.  We all know they are famous for their potato skins and now we can get them as a snack.  There are Sweet Potato Skins, Cheddar and Bacon, Cheddar and Sour Cream, Chili Cheese, Jalapeno Cheddar, Sour Cream and Onion, Bacon Ranch, Baby Back Ribs and Loaded Potato!  So many flavors to choose from.  Other products include: Onion Rings, Mozzarella Sticks, Crunchy Fries and Jalapeno Poppers!

Boulder Canyon will also be joining us this year with their Ancient Grain Crisps!  OMG these are delicious and allow me to snack while also feeling good about the ingredients.  These are part of their full line of Specialty Snacks available in hummus, ancient grains or rice and bean chips!  To fully complement the day they also have Riced Vegetables, Kettle Chips, Canyon Cut Snacks, Seasonal Snacks and Popcorn!

Cafe Valley has bite sized treats, ring cakes and more!  We absolutely love the 7UP Ring Cake and the Dr Pepper Ring Cake.  Other ring cakes include:  Cinnamon Streusel, A&W Root Beer, Orange Crush, Louisiana Crunch, Mississippi Mud, Danish Butter, Strawberry, Dulce De Leche, Triple Chocolate Fudge, Lemon Streusel and Honey Bun! They have bundt cakes, ring cakes, coffee cakes and loaf cakes… Croissants, muffins, turnovers and more!

Cole’s Middles snacks are delicious snacks with surprises in the middle!  Not your basic pretzel – so much more!

So what do you think would be your favorite for Superbowl Sunday?

Our day is going to be perfect and our daughter will have a shining 13th birthday on SephoraBowl Funday!
