Acid rain damages trees by dissolving the calcium in the solid and in the leaves of trees. It affects the crop, since calcium is a nutrient to grow plants. When the calcium has been dissolved, it is washed out by the storm, meaning that trees and other plants can not use it to grow. Acid rain also washes other elements and nutrients from the soil, creating a nutritional deficit.
