We all want to look good.
This is why many of us work out regularly with a fitness routine and spend money on beauty products that can amplify our appearance.
But there is one thing that can scupper our efforts to improve the way we look – our smile! Those of us with crooked or discolored teeth can sometimes be afraid to smile, which is a shame, as a smile can do much to make us more attractive to others.
If you are relating to this, here are our tips for achieving the perfect smile.
#1: Say hello to Invisible Aligners
Many people put up with crooked teeth because they don’t want to wear braces. This is partly because some braces can look unsightly, especially metal ones.
If you’re relating to this, don’t worry. It’s possible to achieve teeth straightening without braces, and you can do this with Invisible Aligners. They are designed from a transparent acrylic material that renders them almost unnoticeable. Check the previous link to learn more, or talk about this option with your dentist the next time you go for a check-up.
#2: Naturally whiten your teeth
If your pearly whites no longer sparkle, perhaps because they have become stained from tea, wine, or smoking, or because you have overindulged on sweets after your annual trick or treating, you can pay for teeth whitening treatment to regain their natural shine. You can also purchase gels, strips, toothpaste, and other teeth-whitening products online or from your local pharmacist.
Some teeth whitening products use chemicals to bleach your teeth, and if this concerns you, you might naturally whiten your teeth instead. You can do this with products that can be bought from your local grocery stores, such as coconut oil, baking soda, and certain fruits and vegetables. It might still be wise to use a specific product from your dentist or pharmacy for long-term results, but you could consider one or more of these home remedies in the short term.
#3: Change your toothbrush
Electric toothbrushes are better at removing plaque than manual toothbrushes, and some of them have teeth-whitening features that can return your teeth to their normal color. As such, it might be worth making the switch if you haven’t done so, as you should get better results from your teeth brushing.
If you would rather use a manual toothbrush, that’s fine. They are cheaper to buy but still effective if you brush regularly. However, it may be better to use a soft-bristled toothbrush than a medium or hard-bristled toothbrush. This is because harder brushes can wear enamel from the teeth and cause gums to recede too. You don’t want these issues to occur for the health of your teeth and for the sake of your appearance. So, unless your dentist has told you that you need a harder toothbrush, opt for something with soft bristles the next time your toothbrush needs replacing.
