As a mom to three adults in the millennial generation – I am official jealous. When I was in my 20s the only options for work and to make money were traditional positions. Can I tell you how excited I was when Ebay came along? But back then we were still using dial up connections and unless you had a really fast computer (kind of an oxymoron because nothing was fast back then) it could take hours to finish one Ebay listing. Oh boy, my computer had me in tears more times than not back then.
Life has certainly changed. For example, 8 years ago I started this blog, The Stuff of Success, and really started it just for fun. Who knew back then I could make money! And real money – not just money to buy a coffee here or there. I actually went years making money blogging without doing anything on social media – then that explosion happened. Every 6 months or so there seems to be some sort of technological explosion that changes the way we all make money. Not all of it is for the better, but some is. Every single time though there is a learning curve and new ways to approach helping companies, non profit organizations and more. Personally, I am in generation X – pretty cool generation I’d say.
Now, there are so many incredible ways to make a living and there is nothing at all tying a person down to a 9-5 job. I see hundreds of ways to make money from home all the time and in most cases it simply requires some sort of internet connection and a computer. Programs like Fiverr make it completely possible to start small, build a following and become big. Even I still use Fiverr to simply just keep the momentum.
So just to show you that anyone can do it, I will tell you some of the ways I make money “online”.
- Blogging
- Selling products through places like Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Etsy and so many others
- Author
- Social Media Marketing
- Recipe creations
- Virtual Assistant Work
- Copyediting
- Copywriting
- Link Insertion
- Network Marketing
There are so many more incredible ways for you to explore. For example I also have my Ph.D. in Natural Health. I am just recently beginning to actually use it and provide essential oil related services with Rocky Mountain Essential Oils.
But making money is the only option – you still need to save money. Ways to save money include things like couponing (been doing it for years and allows for us to survive financially with four generations under one roof), investing with traditional investment options as well as programs like Digit.co, Acorns, StashInvest and more. Some of those programs are awesome – they take money directly out of my checking account in small chunks and I never even miss it. Next thing you know I have a sizable amount invested that I can use to pay off something, buy that special something etc…
