Ticks can be nasty. There is nothing good about them. Fortunately for us (and our dog) we haven’t had any ticks this year. This is not an accident – it is thanks to BRAVECTO® ! Since she lost her playmate in April she has become very much a house dog – but that doesn’t mean she is not at risk.
There were times last year when I would periodically find a tick that was so large after having feasted on one of the dogs. It was completely disgusting. They only had access to the yard with no trees or anything – but they still managed to get ticks.
No matter how little time your dog spends outside or even where they go outside – your dog(s) must be protected from ticks. They can carry diseases that can be harmful to both you and your pets. Check out what diseases you and your dog can be exposed to with the help of this tick identifier. After every trip outside – carefully examine your dog. To do so, just part the dog’s hair and ruff up his/her coat. Visually check for ticks very thoroughly and remember they can be quite small. Be sure to check even in the ears and between the paw pads – they can easily tuck away.
So now we are easily able to take our girl with us everywhere we go without worrying about ticks. She can enjoy the outdoors just as much as us and we never have to worry about how sad she is at home without us.
You also must be careful when removing ticks. Please contact your veterinarian for instructions to safely remove ticks.
BRAVECTO® offers a full 12 weeks of protection. *Bravecto kills fleas, prevents flea infestations, and kills ticks (black-legged tick, American dog tick, and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks. Bravecto also kills lone star ticks for 8 weeks.
Make sure you ask your vet about duration of protection and prevention. Many products will only work for a month. This lasts for approximately three months – just a little over four doses per year for full coverage! BRAVECTO® is only available from your veterinarian or veterinarian clinic. BRAVECTO®is approved only for dogs 6 months or older. This is because BRAVECTO® is prescribed based on weight. Puppies under 6 months of age grows rapidly and their weights change too much over the 12-week treatment period.
